The operating system of the iPhone is quite good since it gets updated more often the the Samsung, iPhone runs on iOS 6 while Samsung is still running on Ice Cream Sandwich still and won't be upgraded to Jelly Bean until later which is disappointing taking in mind other older android stuff are running on the latter.

Camera, battery life and operating systems
When it comes down to the camera both iPhone5 and Samsung Galaxy SIII both have great cameras featuring 8 megapixels for those photographers that love taking pictures with your phone, when it comes to the camera there is not much difference.
The battery life is quite different subject since the Samsung Galaxy SIII has much better battery life than Apple's iPhone 5, up to 3 times more standby time and significantly more talk time.
